Most outerwear, especially shell and insulated garments, has a water-repellent treatment (also known as DWR: durable water repellency). This treatment makes the outer fabric water-resistant, causing water to bead up and roll off the garment. When the treatment wears off after a few seasons, the outer fabric may begin to get wet, even though the membrane still prevents water from penetrating. When this happens, you can easily reapply the water-repellent finish with OrganoTex® Wash-In.
OrganoTex® Wash-In is the result of many years of natural chemical research in biomimetics. It recreates the effect that causes water to roll off leaves in nature. The product is bio-based and easily biodegradable, leaving no harmful residues in nature. This is a significant advancement compared to conventional fluorocarbon-based treatments, which are highly toxic and do not break down in the environment. OrganoTex is also environmentally certified with OEKO-Tex certification and USDA BioPreferred.
OrganoTex® Wash-In is a perfect way to extend the life and improve the functionality of any outer garment. It works on both synthetic fabrics and natural ones, such as wool. Use it on your ski or rain jacket, as well as on insulated garments or windbreakers. It’s easy to use and requires only a regular washing machine. Instructions are provided on the bottle.
