M's The Orange Pants

What makes it special?
At the early stages of development this garment was nicknamed The Orange. Why? Because the brief to our design team was to create a fully waterproof, stowable shell garmant no bigger than an orange in its packed state. The idea is that you should always be able to fit these pants in your backpack and be prepared for any unexpected mountain weather. Full weather protection in an unbelievable light and compact form - That’s The Orange Pants.

How does it work?
From a layering perspective, the idea with Men's The Orange Pants is actually to enable you to wear other garments more. Let’s face it: If you head out for a run, hike, ski tour or long climbing route, waterproof pants are rarely the most comfortable option (usually you want to maximize breathability). But you should still never head out without a pair in case of unpredictable mountain weather. That’s why we designed a pair of fully waterproof shell pants that you can bring without any effort and still always be ready if bad weather hits. And when the need arises, the ultralight, smooth and silent fabric makes the garment extremely comfortable to wear.

What features does it have?
Men's The Orange Pants are minimalistic to save weight and bulk. We have not added any extra features except the essentials: Adjustaments in waist and leg as well as zippers at the bottom leg. The main feature of the garment is the concept and how it feels to wear it. These are no ordinary shell pants but an entirely new breed of ultralight smoothness that you will barely feel that you wear but that will still keep you dry in any storm. When should I use it? Men's The Orange Pants are designed for mountain sports where weight and packability are essential: Running, ski touring, mountaineering or trad climbing. When you keep them in your pack, you won’t know they are there, and when rough weather hits, they will keep you dry and happy. They will of course also work as super light and comfortable rain pants for all those times when you’re not charging through the mountains.

The Orange Pants are made from recycled and recyclable polyester, enabling a circular product lifespan where nothing ever becomes waste. They are also completely free from any toxic chemicals and when this garment is worn out, we kindly ask you to return it to Houdini. We have recycling units in all our own stores and at many retailers.

Our lightest shell layer. This 3L shell is constructed to have ultimate performance of a waterproof breatheble layer, with the lightness and comfort of a 1L. Packable to come along to all adventures.

Shell pants with membrane

• Air out clothes instead of washing them to save water, energy and to make the garments last longer. Make sure to wash your shell if it has been used in salt water or has gotten very sweaty or dirty as this weakens the performance of the garment. They can reduce the fabric’s breathability and damage the water repellent surface. The dirt can even allow for moisture to leak through the fabric.
• Use a washing bag to protect your garments and to prevent fibers from leaking. When cleaning the bag and filter in the machine, make sure to wipe it clean and throw the lint in your trash can. Never rinse it in water since we don’t want the fibers to end up in lakes or oceans.
• Machine wash cold.
• There are special detergents for shells, but mild, environmentally certified detergents work just as fine. Make sure to use the right dose.
• Avoid fabric softener. Besides being harmful for our environment, they have a negative impact on the garment performance, mainly moisture transportation and breathability.
• Hang dry. Just remember to introduce heat to the garment after washing to reactivate the water resistant surface of the outer fabric. Use a drying cabinet, dryer or iron. Make sure you monitor the heat so the garment does not melt.
• You can reapply or enforce the water repellent treatment with a wash-in or spray when needed. Always use an organic DWR: You can find both a spray and a wash-in in the webshop or in our stores.
• Remember to introduce heat to the garment after washing to reactivate the water resistant surface of the fabric.

Circular

The Circular label means that this product is made either from recycled and recyclable or renewable and biodegradable fibers. Most products in today's society are made in a linear lifecycle, where earth's resources are extracted, used and then discarded. This is not working in the long run and comes at a great environmental impact. Instead, we want to close the loop and reuse the material we already have. But we need your help. When your Houdini garments are completely worn out, please return them to us through the recycling units we have in all our own stores and at many retailers.

Recyclable

The Recyclable label means that the raw material in this product can be used for new products, instead of becoming waste. Our goal is that by 2030, we will take no raw material to our products from the earth's crust. Circular products, made from reycled and recyclable materials are a real game changer, but we need your help for the system to work. When your Houdini garments are completely worn out, please return them to us. We have recycle units in all of our own stores and at many retailers.

We offer free shipping and free returns for orders within Sweden.

Delivery times

Our delivery times are 1-3 days within Sweden. All orders made before 12 PM will normally be sent the same workday. All orders are processed at our distribution center in Stockholm, Sweden and we ship all orders with Postnord or Budbee. 

365 days return policy

We want you to be happy with your purchase and that your Houdini products will be with you for a long time ahead, therefore we have a 365 days return policy. The only condition is that the products will remain in their original condition with tags. Send us your return with the prepaid shipping label you get inside your package.
