Playful, slightly stubborn and brutally honest, Pippi Longstocking has been an inspiration for many girls and boys not just in Sweden, but all over the world. Today, 75 years after Pippi Longstocking was first published, 70 million people are forced to flee their homes in search for a safe future - half of them children. And girls are particularly vulnerable.
The brave spirit of Pippi Longstocking has been an inspiration for many children all over the world.
But like Pippi, these girls are strong, brave and courageous. With the backing of our fabric supplier and manufacturer Spectre, we designed a unique Pippi Power Houdi and Power Hat to honour their strength. Both are limited edition and exclusively available in our own stores and webshop. For every garment sold, 10% of the earnings go directly towards Save the Children's work for girls on the move – The Pippis of today.
Known as the strongest girl in the world, Pippi Longstocking symbolises strength, courage and hope. At Houdini, we believe these values live on in all of us.
Designed to pass on the bold and brave spirit of Pippi to all little adventurers who wear them, the Pippi Power Houdi is a special version of our most-loved classic fleece hoodie, made in the same high-quality fabric from Polartec. Uniquely available in Rullgardina Orange, a tribute to Pippi’s favorite color and enriched with Pippi embroidery. Sold exclusively in our own stores and webshop, as well as at theatre park Astrid Lindgren’s World.
It is of course best if small children have things a bit organised. Best of all if they can organise it themselves!
Pippi’s adventurous attitude has been an inspiration for many girls all over the world. The Pippi Longstocking Hat for kids is made in high-quality fleece from Polartec and has a slightly longer fit. A little token of Pippi’s strength and courage, it’s the perfect accessory for any little adventurer with big dreams. Sold exclusively in our own stores and webshop, as well as at theatre park Astrid Lindgren’s World.
It was 75 years ago, right after World War 2, that the famous Swedish author Astrid Lindgren first published the story of Pippi Longstocking. To celebrate her 75th birthday, The Astrid Lindgren Company and Save the Children launched the Pippi of Today initiative, inviting hundreds of partners across the globe to join them and help empower young girls all over the world. All funds raised through this campaign go towards Save the Children's work for girls on the move: The Pippis of today.
Known as the strongest girl in the world, Pippi Longstocking symbolises strength, courage and hope: Where there’s a will, there’s a way. At Houdini, we believe these values live on in all of us. By taking part in the Pippi of Today campaign, we hope to pass on these values to help lift the spirits of those who need it most.
