W's The Orange Tee
Ultralight, completely waterproof t-shirt for women. Designed for endurance activities in mountainous terrain – such as Running or rock climbing – where low weight and packability are crucial.
Description
What makes it special?
The Orange Tee Dam is a progressive, ultralight shell layers developed for trail running and other activities where you need weather protection but never want to be weighed down or restricted in movement. The idea is that you should always be able to carry the garment with you in your rucksack and be ready for rapidly changing mountain weather.
How does it work?
From a layer-on-layer perspective, the idea of The Orange is Tee Dam to give you the opportunity to use your other garments more. When you go for a run, hike or a long climbing route you rarely want to carry around an extra one waterproof jacket - but you need to bring one in case the weather changes. Here you get protection against most things, but in an improbably light and compact form. The short sleeves not only save weight, but also allow full freedom of movement.
The Orange Tee Dam is an ultra-minimalist concept. To save weight and volume, we've added only the essentials: a chest pocket and a half-zip front. That's all. The main function lies in the concept and the feeling when you wear the garment. This is no ordinary shell jacket, but a whole new kind of ultra-light compliance - something you barely notice you're wearing, but which protects the most exposed parts of the body in changing weather conditions.
The relaxed fit makes it easy to wear the t-shirt over one base layer, a windbreaker or even a warming one midlayer if you move outside in winter.
When should I use it?
The Orange Tee Women's is designed for endurance activities in mountain environments where weight and packability are crucial: trail running, alpine rock climbing or rope climbing. In the package it is barely noticeable, but when the storm moves in, it provides protection against the worst.
The Orange Tee is made of recycled and recyclable polyester, which enables a circular product life where nothing needs to become waste. It is also completely free of harmful chemicals. When the garment is worn out, please return it to Houdini. We have recycling stations in all our stores and at many retailers.

Care advice
Shell pants with membrane
- Air clothes instead of washing if the clothes are not too dirty. You save water, energy and it makes the clothes last longer. However, if you have used the garment in salt water, if it has become really dirty or sweaty, you should wash it. Otherwise, the ventilation in the garment may deteriorate and moisture may even leak in through the dirt.
- Use one laundry bag. It is important when washing synthetic clothes as it protects your garments and prevents microfibers from leaking out. When cleaning the bag and filter in the machine, make sure to wipe clean and dispose of lint in the bin. Never rinse the laundry bag with water as the fibers can then end up in lakes and oceans.
- Wash at a maximum of 40 degrees.
- There are special detergents for shell layers, but it usually works just as well with the most common varieties. Choose mild environmentally certified detergents and make sure you use the right dose.
- Avoid fabric softener. In addition to being bad for the environment, it impairs the garment's performance, especially moisture transport and drying time.
- Hang dry, but add heat to the garment after washing so that the water-repellent surface of the outer fabric is reactivated. Use a heating cabinet, tumble dryer or iron, just make sure to keep an eye on the heat so the garment doesn't melt.
- You can strengthen the impregnation in the garment with a wash-in or spray that you can find in the webshop or in our stores.
sustainability
circular
This product is completely circular, which means it is made from either recycled and recyclable or renewable and biodegradable materials. Most products in today's society are linear, where the earth's resources are extracted, used and then discarded. This does not work in the long run and causes enormous strain on the environment. Instead, we want to close the circle and reuse the materials we already have. But we need your help. When your Houdini products are completely worn out, return them to us through our recycling units located in all our own stores and many retailers.
recycled
The label recycled means that this garment contains at least 50% recycled fibers (often more, see product description). The source is either recycled clothing or other sources such as PET bottles. We mainly use recycled polyester, which has many advantages. It reduces both CO2 emissions and water use compared to virgin polyester. One of our suppliers shows that mechanically recycled polyester saves 32% CO2 and uses 94% less water. In addition to the footprint of production, the big difference is that we use "waste" as raw material instead of crude oil.
Recyclable
The label Recyclable means that the fabric in this product is completely recyclable. Instead of becoming waste, the material can be used to manufacture new products. Our goal is to take no material from the earth's crust into our products by 2030. Circular products, made from recycled and recyclable materials, is a big change but we need your help to make the system work. Return your Houdini garments to us when they are completely worn out. We have recycling units in all our own stores and at many retailers.
