Description
Designing functional and versatile midlayers has always been a Houdini special. The Alto Crew is a warm and cozy garment made in an all natural 60% merino wool and 40% Tencel® blend. Merino wool provides warmth and is naturally odor resistant. Tencel® is a fiber made from cellulose that gives the fabric structure and better moisture transmission.
Let this all natural fleece keep you warm on big adventures and your everyday life. The fabric has excellent insulation qualities if you wear it underneath a winter coat or shell jacket for skiing or other winter sports. The open fabric structure will let air flow through it making sure you can ventilate any excess heat. It’s a garment that is relevant all year around.
We can highly recommend Alto Crew if you are looking for a warm technical sweater for everything from skiing to hiking or just keeping you warm on chilly days.
Please don’t throw away this garment when it’s worn out. Alto Crew is made from renewable and biodegradable fibers. The raw materials are valuable and can be used again through recycling or composting. Bring it back to a Houdini shop or one of our retailers that has a Houdini recycling unit.

Care advice
base layer, base garment and fleece
When washing clothes made of synthetic materials, it is especially important to prevent the spread of microfibres in the water by using a laundry bag.
- Air clothes instead of washing if the clothes are not too dirty. You save water, energy and it makes the clothes last longer.
- Feel free to use a laundry bag. It protects your garments and prevents microfibers from leaking out. When cleaning the bag and filter in the machine, make sure to wipe clean and dispose of lint in the bin. Never rinse the laundry bag with water as the fibers can then end up in lakes and oceans.
- Wash at a maximum of 40 degrees.
- Wash with mild environmentally certified detergents and be sure to use the correct dosage.
- Avoid fabric softener. In addition to being bad for the environment, it impairs the garment's performance, especially moisture transport and drying time.
- Do not tumble dry, it wears out both the clothes and the environment unnecessarily. Most synthetic garments dry quickly anyway.
- Hang dry.

The label circular means that this product is made from either recycled and recyclable, or renewable and biodegradable materials. Most products in today's society are linear, where the earth's resources are extracted, used and then discarded. This does not work in the long run and causes enormous strain on the environment. Instead, we want to close the circle and reuse the materials we already have. But we need your help. When your Houdini products are completely worn out, return them to us through our recycling units located in all our own stores and many retailers.
biodegradable
The material in this product is biodegradable. Thanks to the fact that we do not mix our natural materials with synthetic fibers and do not use harmful chemicals, you can compost the product and the only thing left is nutritious soil. Details such as washcloths, zippers, seams, etc. must be cut off and can usually be recycled separately. If you do not have your own compost, you can return the product to us when it is completely worn out. We have recycling units in all our own stores and at many retailers.
renewable
The label renewable means that the product is made entirely of natural, renewable materials. We only use natural fibers that are environmentally sustainable and ethically produced. We use both natural materials and synthetic fibers, both have their advantages, but we never mix them to ensure the product is circular. This means that all fabrics in our products made from natural materials are biodegradable.
Recyclable
The label Recyclable means that the fabric in this product is completely recyclable. Instead of becoming waste, the material can be used to manufacture new products. Our goal is to take no material from the earth's crust into our products by 2030. Circular products, made from recycled and recyclable materials, is a big change but we need your help to make the system work. Return your Houdini garments to us when they are completely worn out. We have recycling units in all our own stores and at many retailers.
