Description
What makes them special?
The Mono Air Pants for kids are the latest addition to our award-winning Mono Air range of insulating garments, an innovation both in terms of performance and sustainability. The Mono Air fabric is specially designed to combat plastic waste. It releases 80% less microfibre than conventional fleece and is made from recycled and recyclable material. Mono Air Pants are a technical garment designed with a hardface treatment that makes them extra durable.
How does it work?
In a conventional fleece, the cut fibres, which create the fuzzy structure, are exposed and can therefore detach from the garment when washed or worn. In Mono Air, infinitely long and airy fibers are knitted into small pockets between a front and a back. The pockets trap warm air from the body to create insulation while protecting the insulating fibers from leaking. The front of the fabric is reinforced with a treatment that prevents pilling and tearing. The result is a soft and strong fabric that keeps you warm and withstands years of intensive use.
When should I use them?
Mono Air Pants are a lightweight insulation garment for four seasons. These lightweight, stretchy and durable pants are designed as an outer garment, but also work as a warming layer under a pair of shell pants. The knitted outer fabric can withstand the worst of the wind, but still breathes well. The Mono Air Pant is designed for versatility and can withstand challenging adventures, but is also comfortable to wear before and after your activities.
Do not throw this garment away when it is worn out. Mono Air Pants are made from recycled and recyclable fibers. The raw materials are valuable and can be reused. Take it to a Houdini store or one of our retailers that has a Houdini recycling unit.

Care advice
Synthetic clothing
When washing clothes made of synthetic materials, it is especially important to prevent the spread of microfibres in the water by using a laundry bag.
- Air clothes instead of washing if the clothes are not too dirty. You save water, energy and it makes the clothes last longer.
- Feel free to use a laundry bag. It protects your garments and prevents microfibers from leaking out. When cleaning the bag and filter in the machine, make sure to wipe clean and dispose of lint in the bin. Never rinse the laundry bag with water as the fibers can then end up in lakes and oceans.
- Wash at a maximum of 40 degrees.
- Wash with mild environmentally certified detergents and be sure to use the correct dosage.
- Avoid fabric softener. In addition to being bad for the environment, it impairs the garment's performance, especially moisture transport and drying time.
- Tumble dry on low heat.
- Iron on low heat.
sustainability
circular
This product is completely circular, which means it is made from either recycled and recyclable or renewable and biodegradable materials. Most products in today's society are linear, where the earth's resources are extracted, used and then discarded. This does not work in the long run and causes enormous strain on the environment. Instead, we want to close the circle and reuse the materials we already have. But we need your help. When your Houdini products are completely worn out, return them to us through our recycling units located in all our own stores and many retailers.
recycled
The label recycled means that this garment contains at least 50% recycled fibers (often more, see product description). The source is either recycled clothing or other sources such as PET bottles. We mainly use recycled polyester, which has many advantages. It reduces both CO2 emissions and water use compared to virgin polyester. One of our suppliers shows that mechanically recycled polyester saves 32% CO2 and uses 94% less water. In addition to the footprint of production, the big difference is that we use "waste" as raw material instead of crude oil.
Recyclable
The label Recyclable means that the fabric in this product is completely recyclable. Instead of becoming waste, the material can be used to manufacture new products. Our goal is to take no material from the earth's crust into our products by 2030. Circular products, made from recycled and recyclable materials, is a big change but we need your help to make the system work. Return your Houdini garments to us when they are completely worn out. We have recycling units in all our own stores and at many retailers.
Bluesign®
The label Bluesign® means that a third party ensures that all harmful chemicals or substances are eliminated from the production process right from the start. It benefits both humans, animals and the entire planet.
