M's Dunfri Vest
Lightweight, insulating men's vest lined with Primaloft® Gold. Hot, very packable and water repellent.
Description
What makes it special?
The Dunfri series is a true Houdini classic. The clean, minimalist design combined with cutting-edge performance creates truly multifunctional garments that fit in many different environments and for a variety of activities.
How does it work?
The Men's Down Fri Vest is made with Spinner Ripstop, a very light and durable fabric and insulated with Primaloft® Gold, a high quality synthetic lining. Primaloft® Gold has a warmth-to-weight ratio similar to down, but performs much better in wet conditions. It packs easily into a stowage pocket and has a wonderfully soft feel. Downfree Vest is treated with a PFAS free water repellency treatment. Both the fabric and the lining are made of 100% recycled and recyclable polyester. We use synthetic feed, not only to get better performance, but also because we don't think birds should suffer for our comfort.
When should I use it?
Bring the Men's Down Free Vest to keep you warm on your ski trip or climbing expedition, pack it on your camping trip, or simply wear it against the cold on your way to work. Use it by itself or layer upon layer.
Do not throw this garment away when it is worn out. The materials are completely circular and can be recycled for use in new products. Take it to a Houdini store or dealer that has a Houdini recycling unit.

Care advice
Lined synthetic garments
Our lined garments consist of an outer fabric and an inner fabric, with insulating synthetic lining from Primaloft in between. There are many advantages to using Primaloft's synthetic lining, including not having to tumble dry the garment with balls to puff it up after washing. It dries faster than down and does not smell when wet.
- Air clothes instead of washing if the clothes are not too dirty. You save water, energy and make clothes last longer.
- Use a laundry bag. It is important when you wash synthetic clothes as it protects your garments and prevents microfibers from leaking out. When cleaning the bag and filter in the machine, make sure to wipe clean and dispose of lint in the bin. Never rinse the laundry bag with water as the fibers can then end up in lakes and oceans.
- Wash at a maximum of 40 degrees.
- Wash with mild environmentally certified detergents and be sure to use the correct dosage.
- Avoid fabric softener. In addition to being bad for the environment, it impairs the garment's performance, especially moisture transport and drying time.
- Hang dry, but add heat to the garment after washing so that the water-repellent surface of the outer fabric is reactivated. Use a heating cabinet, tumble dryer or iron, just make sure to keep an eye on the heat so the garment doesn't melt.
sustainability
circular
This product is completely circular, which means it is made from either recycled and recyclable or renewable and biodegradable materials. Most products in today's society are linear, where the earth's resources are extracted, used and then discarded. This does not work in the long run and causes enormous strain on the environment. Instead, we want to close the circle and reuse the materials we already have. But we need your help. When your Houdini products are completely worn out, return them to us through our recycling units located in all our own stores and many retailers.
recycled
The label recycled means that this garment contains at least 50% recycled fibers (often more, see product description). The source is either recycled clothing or other sources such as PET bottles. We mainly use recycled polyester, which has many advantages. It reduces both CO2 emissions and water use compared to virgin polyester. One of our suppliers shows that mechanically recycled polyester saves 32% CO2 and uses 94% less water. In addition to the footprint of production, the big difference is that we use "waste" as raw material instead of crude oil.
Recyclable
The label Recyclable means that the fabric in this product is completely recyclable. Instead of becoming waste, the material can be used to manufacture new products. Our goal is to take no material from the earth's crust into our products by 2030. Circular products, made from recycled and recyclable materials, is a big change but we need your help to make the system work. Return your Houdini garments to us when they are completely worn out. We have recycling units in all our own stores and at many retailers.
Bluesign®
The label Bluesign® means that a third party ensures that all harmful chemicals or substances are eliminated from the production process right from the start. It benefits both humans, animals and the entire planet.
