Description
Houdini's design team has a penchant for further developing classic garments, often by adding an extra layer of functionality or finesse. The classic parka was designed by the North American military and popularized by British mod culture. In the One Parka II, the lining has been removed, to create a high performance shell layers. In this way, the jacket can be used all year round, even in summer. Just complete with any number of layers and you can handle even the coldest winter days.
One Parka II is made in Slate 3L Hardshell, a waterproof outer material with good breathability, made from recycled and recyclable polyester. The material has an impressive durability, and meets your needs on rainy days as well as demanding adventures in the mountains. Both membrane and impregnation are completely free of harmful fluorocarbons. High-performance products must never be manufactured at the expense of environmental impact.
If you are looking for a cozy raincoat for all kinds of demanding weather, the One Parka II is an excellent choice. If you complete with a warm layer, you can stay warm even in winter, and also wear the jacket on the ski slope when winter offers its wetter side.
The garment is recyclable, and can be advantageously returned to Houdini when it is completely worn out.

Care advice
Shell jackets with membrane
- Air clothes instead of washing if the clothes are not too dirty. You save water, energy and it makes the clothes last longer. However, if you have used the garment in salt water, if it has become really dirty or sweaty, you should wash it. Otherwise, the ventilation in the garment may deteriorate and moisture may even leak in through the dirt.
- Use one laundry bag. It is important when washing synthetic clothes as it protects your garments and prevents microfibers from leaking out. When cleaning the bag and filter in the machine, make sure to wipe clean and dispose of lint in the bin. Never rinse the laundry bag with water as the fibers can then end up in lakes and oceans.
- Wash at a maximum of 40 degrees.
- There are special detergents for shell layers, but it usually works just as well with the most common varieties. Choose mild environmentally certified detergents and make sure you use the right dose.
- Avoid fabric softener. In addition to being bad for the environment, it impairs the garment's performance, especially moisture transport and drying time.
- Hang dry, but add heat to the garment after washing so that the water-repellent surface of the outer fabric is reactivated. Use a heating cabinet, tumble dryer or iron, just make sure to keep an eye on the heat so the garment doesn't melt.
- You can strengthen the impregnation in the garment with a wash-in or spray that you can find in the webshop or in our stores. "
sustainability
circular
The marking circular means that this product is made from either recycled and recyclable or renewable and biodegradable fibres. Most products in today's society are manufactured according to a linear life cycle where the earth's resources are extracted, used and then thrown away. It does not work in the long run and has a major environmental impact. Instead, we want to close the circle and reuse materials we already have. But we need your help. When your Houdini garments are completely worn out, please return them to us via the recycling stations in our stores or at many of our retailers.
recycled
The marking recycled means that this garment contains at least 50% recycled fibers (often more, see product description). The source is either recycled clothing or other materials such as PET bottles. We mainly use recycled polyester, which has many advantages. It reduces both carbon dioxide emissions and water consumption compared to newly produced polyester. How much it reduces depends on the type of recycling. One of our suppliers shows 32% less carbon emissions and 94% less water use for mechanical recycled polyester. In addition to the production gain, the big change is that we use "waste" as raw material instead of fossil oil.
Recyclable
The label Recyclable means that the raw material in this product can be used to create new products instead of becoming waste. Our goal is that by 2030 at the latest, we shall not use any raw materials from the earth's interior for our products. Circular products, made from recycled and recyclable materials, are a real step forward - but for the system to work, we need your help. When your Houdini garments are completely worn out, please return them to us. We have recycling stations in all our own stores and at many retailers.
