What makes it special?
High-quality performance combined with minimalist and timeless aesthetics - This is the classic Houdini recipe and the Ride Jacket is no exception. This jacket is designed for all types of alpine skiing and snowboarding but works for year-round adventures. Remove the snow lock and you have a garment that you can take on a hike, camping or wear for everyday use.
How does it work?
The Men's Ride Jacket is made with Loop Hardshell™, a strong and stretchy 3-layer shell fabric. It is waterproof, breathable and provides exceptional comfort thanks to the soft, quiet surface. The jacket has all the details required for alpine adventures: Detachable snowgaiter, helmet-compatible hood, ventilation openings, waterproof zippers, hand and interior pockets. In addition to offering many functional benefits, the Ride Jacket is also designed to minimize any negative impact on nature: The fabric is made from recycled and recyclable fibers and the garment is completely free of PFAS.
When should I use it?
The Men's Ride Jacket is primarily designed for alpine skiing and snowboarding, but it works all year round. Take it with you on your summer hikes. Use it as an everyday rain jacket or for your bike commute. The minimalist design opens up almost endless possibilities.
Do not throw this garment away once it is worn out. The fabrics are recyclable and if you return the garment to Houdini, we can make new products from the raw material and ensure that it does not end up in incinerators or on a landfill. Thanks!

Care advice
Shell jackets with membrane
- Air clothes instead of washing if the clothes are not too dirty. You save water, energy and it makes the clothes last longer. However, if you have used the garment in salt water, if it has become really dirty or sweaty, you should wash it. Otherwise, the ventilation in the garment may deteriorate and moisture may even leak in through the dirt.
- Use one laundry bag. It is important when washing synthetic clothes as it protects your garments and prevents microfibers from leaking out. When cleaning the bag and filter in the machine, make sure to wipe clean and dispose of lint in the bin. Never rinse the laundry bag with water as the fibers can then end up in lakes and oceans.
- Wash at a maximum of 40 degrees.
- There are special detergents for shell layers, but it usually works just as well with the most common varieties. Choose mild environmentally certified detergents and make sure you use the right dose.
- Avoid fabric softener. In addition to being bad for the environment, it impairs the garment's performance, especially moisture transport and drying time.
- Hang dry, but add heat to the garment after washing so that the water-repellent surface of the outer fabric is reactivated. Use a heating cabinet, tumble dryer or iron, just make sure to keep an eye on the heat so the garment doesn't melt.
- You can strengthen the impregnation in the garment with a wash-in or spray that you can find in the webshop or in our stores.

The label Bluesign® means that a third party ensures that all harmful chemicals or substances are eliminated from the production process right from the start. It benefits both humans, animals and the entire planet.
circular
The label circular means that this product is made from either recycled and recyclable, or renewable and biodegradable materials. Most products in today's society are linear, where the earth's resources are extracted, used and then discarded. This does not work in the long run and causes enormous strain on the environment. Instead, we want to close the circle and reuse the materials we already have. But we need your help. When your Houdini products are completely worn out, return them to us through our recycling units located in all our own stores and many retailers.

The label recycled means that this garment contains at least 50% recycled fibers (often more, see product description). The source is either recycled clothing or other sources such as PET bottles. We mainly use recycled polyester, which has many advantages. It reduces both CO2 emissions and water use compared to virgin polyester. One of our suppliers shows that mechanically recycled polyester saves 32% CO2 and uses 94% less water. In addition to the footprint of production, the big difference is that we use "waste" as raw material instead of crude oil.
Recyclable
The label Recyclable means that the fabric in this product is completely recyclable. Instead of becoming waste, the material can be used to manufacture new products. Our goal is to take no material from the earth's crust into our products by 2030. Circular products, made from recycled and recyclable materials, is a big change but we need your help to make the system work. Return your Houdini garments to us when they are completely worn out. We have recycling units in all our own stores and at many retailers.
