Description
What makes them special?
These pants in 100% recycled wool is truly something out of the ordinary. The Italian wool fabric is warm, breathes well and adapts to your body in a way that only natural materials can. As the fabric supplier puts it: "Developed to survive fads, stand the test of time and become more beautiful with time and use." Work Hard Pants is a garment created in harmony with nature and designed for a life among forests, rapids and mountain peaks.
How do they work?
The fabric consists of 100% MWool®, the next generation recycled wool from Manteco. This circular raw material is produced by mechanically regenerating and reusing textile waste from both consumer and production stages. Everything takes place in a transparent, hyperlocal supply chain. Compared to newly produced wool, this method reduces water consumption by 99.9%, CO2 emissions by 99.2% and energy consumption by 99.3%. Instead of dyeing the fabric, different recycled wool fibers are mixed to achieve a range of beautiful colours. The fabric is extremely durable and has undergone rigorous tests of durability and quality. The strength of the material makes it ideal for demanding outdoor activities. This extraordinary fabric is then used in a robust design with all the features you would expect from technology outdoor pants: Adjustable waist with integrated belt, double hand pockets, zippered side pockets, reinforced knees with pockets for knee pads and volume adjustments at leg ends.
When should I use them?
These technical outdoor pants are designed for rock climbing, hiking and an active everyday life. They can accompany you through all four seasons, but they perform at their best when the temperature drops, on a crisp autumn hike or an early spring day by the cliff.

Care advice
Woolen clothing
Wool is a fantastic material that has natural dirt and bacteria resistance. Therefore, wool does not need to be washed after each use. Hang up and vent instead. Too much washing deteriorates the wool's properties and wears out the garments unnecessarily.
- Feel free to use a laundry bag that protects your garments.
- Wash with a gentle program or wool program, maximum 30 degrees.
- Preferably use wool detergent and be sure to use the correct dosage. If you do not have detergent for wool, you can use mild environmentally certified detergents. Then choose a detergent without enzymes that has a neutral pH.
- Avoid bleaches, alkaline substances that raise the pH value and enzymes such as proteases or amylase because some enzymes break down proteins and fats in the wool. This also applies to silk.
- Avoid fabric softener. In addition to being bad for the environment, it impairs the garment's performance, especially moisture transport and drying time.
- Do not tumble dry, in addition to being bad for the environment, wool garments are sensitive to high heat.
- Shape the garment after washing and let it dry flat on, for example, a towel.
- As wool is a natural and living material, it is relatively easily shaped by external influences. Therefore, store your woolen garments folded and do not hang them on hangers to avoid the garments losing their shape.
sustainability
circular
The label circular means that this product is made from either recycled and recyclable, or renewable and biodegradable materials. Most products in today's society are linear, where the earth's resources are extracted, used and then discarded. This does not work in the long run and causes enormous strain on the environment. Instead, we want to close the circle and reuse the materials we already have. But we need your help. When your Houdini products are completely worn out, return them to us through our recycling units located in all our own stores and many retailers.
recycled
The label recycled means that this garment contains at least 50% recycled fibers (often more, see product description). The source is either recycled clothing or other sources such as PET bottles. We mainly use recycled polyester, which has many advantages. It reduces both CO2 emissions and water use compared to virgin polyester. One of our suppliers shows that mechanically recycled polyester saves 32% CO2 and uses 94% less water. In addition to the footprint of production, the big difference is that we use "waste" as raw material instead of crude oil.
Recyclable
The label Recyclable means that the fabric in this product is completely recyclable. Instead of becoming waste, the material can be used to manufacture new products. Our goal is to take no material from the earth's crust into our products by 2030. Circular products, made from recycled and recyclable materials, is a big change but we need your help to make the system work. Return your Houdini garments to us when they are completely worn out. We have recycling units in all our own stores and at many retailers.
