Description
When Houdini's design team developed the Women's Rollercoaster Jacket, the goal was to enhance the feel and experience of wearing a shell layers. To achieve the feeling of total freedom of movement, the foundation was turned upside down garment cutting. A process that is traditionally carried out two-dimensionally on a flat surface. With the Rollercoaster Jacket, the pattern was instead draped from a single piece of material, and directly onto a human simulating movements from rock climbing or freestyle skiing. The result was a jacket designed for movement. In combination with the waterproof, breathable and the quiet material Loop Hardshell™, you get a shell jacket at the highest functional level that also feels like a dream to wear.
The Women's Rollercoaster Jacket is designed with a slightly longer fit and extended back end for extra weather protection and an integrated snowgaiter which keeps you dry even if you do somersaults in powder snow. Two angled ventilation zips under the arms keep body temperature down without getting in the way of the backpack. The generous hood with dual adjustments keeps you protected in all weathers, goes over a helmet and can be used with one hand, even with gloves on. As for pockets, you have two large side pockets, one breast pocket on the outside and one on the inside. All seams are taped and all zippers are water resistant.
If you're looking for a fully equipped ski and snowboard jacket for all types of alpine adventures, the Women's Rollercoaster Jacket is an excellent choice. Maximum functionality and increased comfort in a robust design that will last for many years. When it eventually wears out, the recycled and recyclable fabric can return to the system and become new garments. Nothing needs to go to waste. Just like all our garments, the Rollercoaster Jacket is created with clean technology and completely free of PFAS or other harmful chemicals.

Care advice
Shell jackets with membrane
- Air clothes instead of washing if the clothes are not too dirty. You save water, energy and it makes the clothes last longer. However, if you have used the garment in salt water, if it has become really dirty or sweaty, you should wash it. Otherwise, the ventilation in the garment may deteriorate and moisture may even leak in through the dirt.
- Use one laundry bag. It is important when washing synthetic clothes as it protects your garments and prevents microfibers from leaking out. When cleaning the bag and filter in the machine, make sure to wipe clean and dispose of lint in the bin. Never rinse the laundry bag with water as the fibers can then end up in lakes and oceans.
- Wash at a maximum of 40 degrees.
- There are special detergents for shell layers, but it usually works just as well with the most common varieties. Choose mild environmentally certified detergents and make sure you use the right dose.
- Avoid fabric softener. In addition to being bad for the environment, it impairs the garment's performance, especially moisture transport and drying time.
- Hang dry, but add heat to the garment after washing so that the water-repellent surface of the outer fabric is reactivated. Use a heating cabinet, tumble dryer or iron, just make sure to keep an eye on the heat so the garment doesn't melt.
- You can strengthen the impregnation in the garment with a wash-in or spray that you can find in the webshop or in our stores.
sustainability
circular
This product is completely circular, which means it is made from either recycled and recyclable or renewable and biodegradable materials. Most products in today's society are linear, where the earth's resources are extracted, used and then discarded. This does not work in the long run and causes enormous strain on the environment. Instead, we want to close the circle and reuse the materials we already have. But we need your help. When your Houdini products are completely worn out, return them to us through our recycling units located in all our own stores and many retailers.
recycled
The label recycled means that this garment contains at least 50% recycled fibers (often more, see product description). The source is either recycled clothing or other sources such as PET bottles. We mainly use recycled polyester, which has many advantages. It reduces both CO2 emissions and water use compared to virgin polyester. One of our suppliers shows that mechanically recycled polyester saves 32% CO2 and uses 94% less water. In addition to the footprint of production, the big difference is that we use "waste" as raw material instead of crude oil.
Recyclable
The label Recyclable means that the fabric in this product is completely recyclable. Instead of becoming waste, the material can be used to manufacture new products. Our goal is to take no material from the earth's crust into our products by 2030. Circular products, made from recycled and recyclable materials, is a big change but we need your help to make the system work. Return your Houdini garments to us when they are completely worn out. We have recycling units in all our own stores and at many retailers.
Bluesign®
The label Bluesign® means that a third party ensures that all harmful chemicals or substances are eliminated from the production process right from the start. It benefits both humans, animals and the entire planet.
