Lykan Balaclava
Pioneering technical balaclava with seamless, airy knit construction that provides exceptional breathability and comfort.
Description
What makes it special?
The outdoor industry is full of "bells and whistles" and superficial innovation, but sometimes new technology appears that can actually change everything from the ground up. The Lykan series is just such an innovation. The airy knitted garments made with textured yarn provide a completely new experience that enhances both comfort and performance to a new level. The ultra-light, stretchy material follows the body's movements and feels like a natural extension of yourself.
How does it work?
Lykan Balaclava is completely seamless with a unique, textured yarn, which gives an extremely soft, light and stretchy fabric with a fuzzy surface. The airy, open and super soft material is perfect for insulation during high activity. It has a level of breathability, warmth-to-weight and comfort that traditional insulation garments simply cannot match. The airy structure effectively insulates under a protective layer and at the same time immediately releases excess heat and moisture when you open up for ventilation.
Because the balaclava is knitted in one piece, there is almost no waste, and the yarn is both recycled and recyclable – making a completely circular garment possible. performance and sustainability often go hand in hand.
When should I use it?
Lykan Balaclava is perfect for cold weather conditions: Skiing, cross-country skating or cycling in winter. The open, stretchy and seamless construction provides superior comfort and keeps you warm without overheating. Fits perfectly under a ski, bike or climbing helmet.
Everything that everything is Lykan Balaclava a next-generation insulation garment that pushes the boundaries of comfort, performance and sustainability. Try it - and you won't want to go back to traditional models.
This garment is made with the future in mind, from materials suitable for recycling. When it's finally worn out, return it to Houdini so the raw materials can be used again. In this way, we reduce the need for virgin resources, minimize environmental impact and limit waste streams.

Care advice
Synthetic clothing
When washing clothes made of synthetic materials, it is especially important to prevent the spread of microfibres in the water by using a laundry bag.
- Air clothes instead of washing if the clothes are not too dirty. You save water, energy and it makes the clothes last longer.
- Feel free to use a laundry bag. It protects your garments and prevents microfibers from leaking out. When cleaning the bag and filter in the machine, make sure to wipe clean and dispose of lint in the bin. Never rinse the laundry bag with water as the fibers can then end up in lakes and oceans.
- Wash at a maximum of 40 degrees.
- Wash with mild environmentally certified detergents and be sure to use the correct dosage.
- Avoid fabric softener. In addition to being bad for the environment, it impairs the garment's performance, especially moisture transport and drying time.
- Tumble dry on low heat.
- Iron on low heat.
sustainability
recycled
The marking recycled means that this garment contains at least 50% recycled fibers (often more - see product description). The source is either recycled clothing or other materials such as PET bottles. We mainly use recycled polyester, which has many advantages. It reduces both carbon dioxide emissions and water use compared to newly produced polyester. How much it reduces depends on the type of recycling. One of our suppliers shows 32% lower CO₂ emissions and 94% less water consumption when mechanically recycling polyester. Apart from the production advantage, the biggest change is that we use "waste" as raw material instead of fossil oil.
Recyclable
The label Recyclable means that the raw material in this product can be used to create new products, instead of becoming waste. Our goal is that by 2030 at the latest, we shall not use any raw materials from the earth's interior for our products. Circular products – made from recycled and recyclable materials – are truly groundbreaking, but we need your help to make the system work. When your Houdini garments are completely worn out, please return them to us. We have recycling stations in all our own stores and at many retailers.
