Silvestre is the result of a unique design collaboration between Houdini and Italian footwear manufacturer Demon. It is a light, technical trekking and approach shoe that blends the raw elegance and technical footwear expertise of Demon with Houdini’s visionary work and commitment to timeless, technical outdoor design and a future of regeneration and beauty. Handmade in Italy, Silvestre seamlessly fuses technical performance, progressive design language and heritage craftsmanship.
How does it work?
Silvestre merges the core elements of hiking shoes with the precision of climbing slippers and the resilience of mountaineering boots. A hand-applied rubber rand reinforces the toe area, engineered specifically to withstand frequent abrasion from alpine rock surfaces. This protective band wraps not only the upper but also extends over the exposed super-crepe EVA midsole, shielding both critical components from wear and impact in the most demanding terrain.
The interior of Silvestre features a high-tenacity stretch lining, a technical signature of Demon footwear. This internal microfiber gaiter, unique in the approach footwear category, provides exceptional comfort and protection, forming a close, sock-like fit. Slightly higher than a traditional collar, it effectively prevents the intrusion of gravel, dust, and trail debris - particularly common on scree-covered ascents and descents.
When should I use it?
Silvestre is designed to enable the user to move without effort between urban environments and the wild. It has all the technical features of a top-of-the-line light trekking shoe but challenges the conventions of traditional outdoor aesthetics. Designed to deliver both stability and traction on rock and comfort over long distances, Silvestre adapts seamlessly from trail to technical scrambling.
