Find the right jacket for women
The jacket you need depends on the weather and your activity. A shell jacket protects against rain, wind and snow and is the outer layer in a layering system. When it is cold, a down-free jacket gives warmth without feathers, with synthetic insulation that keeps you warm even when it gets damp. For the slopes and off-piste there are ski jackets with ventilation and a helmet-compatible hood, and for rainy days lighter rain jackets.
Our jackets are made to be used for a long time and in many situations, from the mountains to the commute. Read more in our guide to winter and autumn jackets.
Which jacket should I choose for winter?
For active days in the cold, a shell jacket over a warm mid-layer works best, since you can adjust the warmth to how much you move. For city use and calmer days, an insulated down-free jacket or parka keeps you warm straight away.
What is the difference between a shell jacket and a rain jacket?
Both are waterproof. A shell jacket is built for tougher weather and activity, often with ventilation and a larger hood. A rain jacket is lighter and simpler and suits everyday use and easier trips. Read more in the guide shell jackets and when to wear them.
