Description

What makes it special?
Cutting edge performance in combination with minimalistic and timeless aesthetics - This is the classic Houdini recipe and Ride Jacket II is no exception. This jacket is designed for all types of alpine skiing and snowboarding but works for adventures all year around. Zip off the snow skirt and you have a product that you can take hiking, camping or simply keep you dry in your everyday life.

How does it work?
Men’s Ride Jacket II is made with Dawnbreak 3L Hardshell, a strong and stretchy 3-layer shell fabric. It is waterproof, breathable and provides outstanding comfort thanks to its smooth, silent touch. The jacket has all the details required for alpine adventures: Removable snow skirt, helmet compatible hood, vent zips, waterproof zippers, hand- and inner pockets. Functional benefits aside, Ride Jacket II is also designed to minimize any negative impact on nature: The fabric is made from recycled, recyclable fibers and PFAS free technology.

When should I use it?
Men's Ride Jacket II is primarily designed for alpine skiing and snowboarding, but it works all year around. Take it hiking in the summer. Use it as an everyday rain jacket or for your bike commute. The minimalist design opens up almost endless possibilities.

Please don’t throw this garment away when it is worn out. The fabrics are recyclable and if you return the garment to Houdini, we can make new products from the raw material and keep it out of incinerators or landfills. Thank you!

Care instructions

Shell jackets with membrane

  • Air out clothes instead of washing them and wash only when needed. Make sure to wash your shell if it has been used in salt water or has gotten very sweaty or dirty as this weakens the performance of the garment. They can reduce the fabric’s breathability and damage the water repellent surface. The dirt can even allow for moisture to leak through the fabric.
  • Use a washing bag to protect your garments and to prevent fibers from leaking. When cleaning the bag and filter in the machine, make sure to wipe it clean and throw the lint in your trash can. Never rinse it in water since we don’t want the fibers to end up in lakes or oceans.
  • Machine wash cold.
  • There are special detergents for shells, but mild, mild detergents work just as fine. Make sure to use the right dose.
  • Avoid fabric softener, as it can reduce moisture transport and breathability.
  • Hang dry. Just remember to introduce heat to the garment after washing to reactivate the water resistant surface of the outer fabric. Use a drying cabinet, dryer or iron. Make sure you monitor the heat so the garment does not melt.
  • You can reapply or enforce the water repellent treatment with a wash-in or spray when needed. Always use an water-repellent treatment intended for the garment: You can find both a spray and a wash-in in the webshop or in our stores.
  • Remember to introduce heat to the garment after washing to reactivate the water resistant surface of the fabric.
Sustainability
· DWR made with PFAS-free technology. · Face fabric made with 100% recycled polyester. · Designed for disassembly and recycling. At Houdini, we approach every product with the ambition to create exceptional performance garments that function in harmony with nature. This means considering material choices, durability, chemistry, resource efficiency and what happens to the product when it no longer can be used. There is no single solution that applies to every product. Our design teams work to make informed choices for each garment, balancing longevity with lower-impact materials and circular design principles – without ever sacrificing the technical performance that our users expect and rely on.
