Are you a Mindful Master? Or an Urban Adventurer? We took a look at ourselves and our friends and identified five different types of outdoor lovers. Find the perfect Houdini gear in our (slightly stereotypical) personality test.
Do you bike to work even when it’s snowing (and feel a slightly unbecoming pleasure when you pass cars stuck in traffic)? Have you ever dreamt of free climbing a public construction (bridge, TV tower, etc)? Have you at least three pictures of sunset skylines in your Instagram feed? You are most likely an urban adventurer. You want clothes that are technical but doesn’t look technical. You want to blend into the city, but always be ready for adventure.
Have you ever spent a considerable part of your workday googling mountain faces in Patagonia? Do you own two or more head torches? Do you consider polishing ice axes Friday night fun? Do you know the weight of your skis? Congratulations, you are officially a part of the glorious (and slightly narcissistic) group of people called Explorers. Our guess is that you want your clothes as technical as possible, lightweight and preferably in a signal color.
Have you ever looked at a really old tree and humbly thought that we all consist of the same matter? Have you considered a juice cleanse? Do you follow at least one yoga account on Instagram? Can you reach your toes with straight legs? Congratulations, you are a Mindful Master, and you will likely live longer than any other group on this list. When you choose your clothes you look for comfort, the right touch of the fabric and complete freedom of movement.
Do you know your resting pulse? Have you spend an entire dinner retelling the contents of the book Born to Run? Do you agree with the phrase “pain is pleasure”? Have you ever dreamt of taking time off work to run/walk/ski an unreasonable long distance? Then you are undoubtedly a part of a global family known as Endurance Artists. This is good, because a set of light, quick drying and slim fitting clothes, a pair of running shoes and an open stretch of land is all you need to be happy.
Can you fall without hurting yourself? Do you share your adventure pics on Snapchat? Does lunch break often feel like an unbearably boring punishment? Is skipping lines at the ski resort a sport in itself for you? Then you are a Youngster, and you should enjoy it while it lasts. Soon you will be tired after 12 hours of ice hockey and become aware of the cost of a ski pass. You need clothes that let you stay active for hours and doesn’t break from everyday adventures.
